211 Waterfront doesn’t fail to impress
Looking for something to do? There’s a brand new restaurant in Cape Town, the 211 Waterfront! If you’ve ever wanted to experience fine dining with an intangible ambience set in the heart of the city, then this Waterfront restaurant is for you.
Ambience
Designed for the international market, the 211 is an ideal place to meet and greet, see and be seen. The extensive use of glass sliding doors and a wall of windows ensure that no matter where you are in the restaurant, views are always accessible, and what views await you. Bask in the sun during late summer evenings, or watch the storms roll in over the bay in the winter months. The minimalist, chic feel of the restaurant is mirrored by the waiting staff who are omnipresent but discrete to allow the enjoyment of the meal and atmosphere in privacy.
Black granite tiles and Zimbabwean teak inlays give the restaurant an executive feel while still maintaining the warmth and atmosphere you would want at a five-star quality restaurant. Although the restaurant is multi-level, the views from every side swoop in to the tables, allowing guests to gaze over the iconic Table Mountain vistas or the working harbour below.
Eating and relaxing
Choose from a multitude of areas to dine and relax in, from the private dining area which can accommodate 70 guests, to the central area of the restaurant which houses 40 guests and can be transformed into a dance floor with a bandstand for live jazz afternoons.
Additionally, the restaurant has a deck and cocktail bar area, each housing 100 and 80 people respectively. For those chilly winter evenings, we recommend that the private dining area is utilised as it has a wonderful warm fireplace.
On to the main course
The restaurant offers a contemporary range of cuisine, from Prawns wrapped in Kataifi Pastry, deep fried and drizzled with Cajun butter sauce, to Brie baked with Mango Jelly in a phyllo and a variety of delicious gourmet soups. No matter what your taste or gastronomique delights, this Cape Town restaurant will inspire and please you.
The menu at 211 Waterfront is developed by the Group Executive Chef and her team of experts to transform the raw, natural ingredients into fusion food to please any palate. The accent of the food is on the changes of the season, flavour penetration and presentation, and organic food from the local area. Two sushi and sashimi chefs are employed to ensure the authenticity of the eastern delicacies.
For after dinner aperitifs
The cocktail bar and lounge at the 211 Waterfront, a luxurious V&A Waterfront restaurant, offers colourful ambience in air-conditioned style. The cocktail menu, extensive wine list, and traditional draft beer allow all guests from any culture or country to enjoy a relaxing drink. The glass-enclosed wine cellar is temperature controlled and features the finest wines from the Cape.
The bar is finished in stainless steel, with a refrigerated channel which ensures that your drink remains chilled at all times, to mirror your mood.
No matter what your reason for visiting this Cape Town restaurant, make sure you sample the food and wine, relax by the fireplace, and savour the atmosphere in this exquisite example of a chic restaurant in Cape Town.
